This combination steel/aluminum hinge is meant for hinge posts 4" or wider. The wide mounting plates ensure an even distribution of weight to reduce post flexing or other failure. The four anchor points position bolts at the sides for a more secure attachment. SHUT IT hinges are assembled in the U.S. with D&D's standard maintenance-free high-temperature sealed bearings. Sealed bearings mean the hinge has nearly frictionless movement, and can be powder coated with the gate.
